Kinnaur, known as the “Land of the Kinners” (mythical demi-gods), is a stunning district in the northeast Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh.

It is renowned for its dramatic topography, featuring deep valleys, dense forests of cedar and pine, and massive apple orchards. Kinnaur is home to the sacred Kinner Kailash peak, revered as the winter abode of Lord Shiva. The region showcases a unique blend of Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist cultures, evident in its architecture and festivals. The district lies on the ancient Hindustan-Tibet Road, offering breathtaking views and access to the remote Sangla Valley and Chitkul.

  • The tour start at 5:30am but the pickup times will be between 4am and 5:30am
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Day 1: Chandigarh → Shimla (115 km | 4–5 hrs)

Pickup from Chandigarh Airport/Railway Station. Drive through Pinjore and Parwanoo. Check-in and leisure walk on Mall Road and The Ridge.
Overnight: Shimla

Day 2: Shimla → Narkanda (65 km | 2–3 hrs)

After breakfast, drive via Kufri to Narkanda. Visit Hatu Peak for panoramic Himalayan views (weather permitting).
Overnight: Narkanda

Day 3: Narkanda → Sangla (170 km | 6–7 hrs)

Scenic drive along the Sutlej River via Rampur. Enter Baspa Valley, famous for apple orchards and wooden houses.
Overnight: Sangla

Day 4: Sangla → Chitkul → Sangla (40 km | 2 hrs)

Excursion to Chitkul, India’s last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border. Explore Baspa River banks and village life.

Day 5: Sangla → Kalpa (95 km | 4–5 hrs)

Drive to Kalpa via Karcham. Visit Roghi Village and enjoy majestic views of the Kinnaur Kailash range.

Day 6: Kalpa → Nako (165 km | 6–7 hrs)

High-altitude drive through Pooh and Spillow. Visit Nako Lake and monastery on arrival.
Overnight: Nako

Day 7: Nako → Rampur (160 km | 6–7 hrs)

Descend back through dramatic mountain roads. Visit Padam Palace (time permitting).
Overnight: Rampur

Day 8: Rampur → Chandigarh (345 km | 8–9 hrs)
